Tea is all the rage, and one of the best parts of a proper tea is that there are sandwiches, cakes, tarts, scones, and biscuits to go with your choice of tea. Of course afternoon tea has been served in England for centuries, the Regency series, Bridgerton has made it even more popular. Dahlia Clearwater, who is a baker and fan of Bridgerton, is the author of a delightful and beautiful cookbook, Teatime at Grosvenor Square: An Unofficial Cookbook for Fans of Bridgerton―75 Sinfully Delectable Recipes.

This cookbook includes dozens of mouthwatering dishes that are suitable for serving at tea (or anytime, for that matter). Many of the recipes are traditional tea fare such as cucumber sandwiches and little cakes, and some are a bit unique like Salmon and Avocado Profiteroles. Of course there are recipes for scones, which are a must at any tea, and there is even a recipe for clotted cream to go on the scones as well as jams and very English marmalade. The recipes are written in standard recipe form and are easy to follow. In fact, most of the recipes are quite easy and can be made by almost everyone, with beginner to advanced cooking skills.

The best part of this fun cookbook is the beautiful photographs; these are excellent and will cause most hostesses to make more dishes than planned.
While the recipes may not be authentic Regency recipes, they are certainly some that would have been served at teas through the years, and guests will swoon over the variety of little treats that are served. Whether you plan to invite friends over for tea, or just want to make a few treats to sample, this is a great cookbook to add to your collection.
