David Baldacci fans (and who isn’t?) will welcome the fourth installment in the fascinating Atlee Pine series, Mercy. Atlee has been searching for her sister who was kidnapped on the night she was left for dead, and thinks she is finally getting close. This is one series that should be read in order to get the full effect of the novel.

Baldacci is one of the most popular thriller writers today, and is in the top ten bestselling authors with good reason. Most thriller aficionados have been following his excellent series for years, and his Atlee Pine series is definitely one to pick up. Baldacci is a brilliant storyteller, and this series is one that not only keeps readers on the edge of their seats, but is well-written and easy to follow. Developing his characters is one of Baldacci’s areas of expertise, and readers already love Atlee Pine and want to get to know and love her sister, Mercy, although there is some doubt whether Mercy is actually still alive after all the years since the kidnapping.

Baldacci’s style includes plenty of intrigue and building suspense. Atlee and her supporting characters are put in danger at every turn, and sometimes readers will wonder if it is all for naught.

Baldacci has masterfully put together another installment of the series, and hopefully there are more to come. Atlee is a unique character and will prove to be a favorite among Baldacci thriller fans. This novel is highly recommended, especially for those who have read the previous novels in the series.
