One More Kill is the 9th novel in the Brandon Fisher FBI Series by Carolyn Arnold. Special Agent Fisher is assigned the case of a couple who are found dead in the woods near their home, and he realizes that it is similar to a case that Supervisory Special Agent Jack Harper investigated many years ago. These new murders are just like work of a brutal serial killer who calls himself The Leopard. Apparently this killer hunts his prey like an animal and when he pounces, there is much blood. Harper is familiar with other instances in other states, and the FBI team travels to those states to get the information they need to catch this killer.

One of the interesting things about this series is that Fisher, who is the protagonist, isn’t usually where the focus is on in the story. While Arnold is an excellent storyteller, in this novel the focus seems to be on Jack Harper, and Brandon Fisher plays a secondary role. Nevertheless, Arnold does a good job of developing her characters, and makes them believable and real. The story is suspenseful and there are surprising twists and turns while the FBI agents find ways to solve this baffling case.
Arnold’s writing style is very reader-friendly, and this novel is one that may be classified as “unputdownable.” There is enough to keep any thriller reader’s interest all the way through to the dénouement. Arnold includes enough information to read it as a standalone novel, but most readers will want to familiarize themselves with the characters beforehand and read the previous novels. This is a good series to follow.
