Pasta lovers will want to pick up Aliza Green’s cookbook, Super Simple Homemade Pasta: Make Spaghetti, Penne, Linguini, Bucatini, Tagliatelle, Ravioli, and More in Your Own Home Kitchen . Although there is good pasta available in grocery stores, there is something special about pasta made fresh at home. There are dozens of cookbooks available on making homemade pasta, but this excellent cookbook takes pasta making to a higher realm. It includes pasta made with different flours, flavored pasta, and dumplings. There are instructions for mixing pasta dough by hand, using a mixer, and using a food processor. The dough can be rolled out by hand, as well as with a pasta machine or extruder, and Green includes instructions to make it easy.

There are sections on pasta making tools to make all of your favorite shapes, as well as your favorite stuffed pastas. The instructions are step-by-step so they are easy to follow. There are a few recipes for classics such as lasagna (very different than what is served in many US homes) and Cannelloni, as well as a few good sauces. The focus of the cookbook, however, is on making the actual pasta. Green presents dozens of shapes, many that are not so well-known. There are also beautiful photographs of the different pastas and each step while making them.

Reading this cookbook, and finding that everyone can make excellent pasta at home will inspire pasta lovers everywhere to make something new almost every day. There are enough recipes to keep cooks busy for months or longer, and families and friends happy. This book is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to hone their pasta making skills.
