Even if you haven’t watched the popular Netflix Bridgerton series, The Unofficial Bridgerton Cookbook: From The Viscount's Mushroom Miniatures and The Royal Wedding Oysters to Debutante Punch and The Duke's Favorite Gooseberry Pie Inspired by Bridgerton, is a fun cookbook to add to your cookbook collection. It includes recipes from Regency England that will be appealing to everyone who loves food, especially food from the past. The recipes are very “English” and include classics such as scones and tea sandwiches, as well as refreshing beverages, cakes, and biscuits (cookies), muffins, and even macarons. The side dishes and especially the main dishes are fairly elegant and fit for royalty, but not overly so. They are, however, mouthwatering. Unfortunately, there isn’t a photograph of every recipe, but there are lots of beautiful pictures that will make it difficult to choose just what to make next. The recipes are written in the traditional form and are easy to follow. Many are quite easy, too.
All told, this is a fun cookbook full of great recipes to serve while watching Bridgerton or other shows from the period. Almost everyone will enjoy re-creating these lovely recipes, and everyone will enjoy eating the finished dishes.
