8 Servings

2 pounds ground beef
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup flour

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup dry red wine
2 10 3/4 ounce cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 envelope au jus gravy mix
1 3/4 cups water

Mix the ground beef, onion soup mix, bread crumbs, and milk. Divide the mixture into eight parts, and form each part into a patty about 1/2" thick. Measure the flour onto a plate and coat each of the patties in the flour.

Turn the Instant Pot on the sauté setting. Add a tablespoon of the vegetable oil and brown four of the patties. Remove the patties from the pot and set aside; repeat with the remaining patties and set them aside. If there is a large amount of fat, pour it off. Add the red wine (or water if you prefer) to the pan and bring to a boil; scrape the crispy bits from the bottom and continue to cook until the wine is reduced by half. Add the patties back in to the pot. Mix the soup, au jus gravy mix, and water; whisk until smooth and pour over the patties.

Cover the pot, set the valve to sealing, and set to manual for 15 minutes. When the cycle is finished, let sit 10 minutes, then release the pressure.

Serve with mashed potatoes.
