It’s always nice to be prepared, and keeping canned fish and seafood on the pantry shelf can be a lifesaver in a pinch. Tin to Table: Fancy, Snacky Recipes for Tin-thusiasts and A-fish-ionados is an excellent cookbook (with a very clever name) to make the best of those cans of fish and seafood that are most likely on your pantry shelves. You will be amazed at the imagination of the author in showcasing canned fish in innovative and unique recipes that fish lovers will actually want to make.

The recipes are written in the traditional manner with the ingredient list followed by step-by-step instructions. Most are fairly simple, and can be successfully made by both beginning and advanced cooks. Although most of us have our favorite kinds of canned seafood, this book includes several varieties that we maybe aren’t familiar with or haven’t tried. This one gives us an excuse to peruse the grocery store canned meat and fish aisle for some new things to try, especially when we’ve found good recipes to use them in from the cookbook.

This colorful cookbook contains hints and information at the beginning of each chapter, as well as authors notes preceding each recipe. There are also beautiful, professional photographs of most of the dishes, which makes it difficult to decide which one to make next.
If you’re one to keep several varieties of canned seafood on your shelf, you’ll enjoy cooking from this book.
