There are dozens of Asian cookbooks out there. Most are full of popular dishes that everyone has heard of. Anyone looking for a good Asian cookbook with new or innovative dishes that are appealing, will want to pick up My Asian Kitchen: Noodles, Dumplings, Salad, Sushi, Wok, Baoby Jennifer Joyce, which includes dozens of recipes that aren’t the same-old same-old that everyone is familiar with. Joyce has an imagination, and has used it to create new innovative Asian dishes that are very appealing.

The recipes are gathered from several Asian countries: Korea, Japan, China, Indonesia, and others. The chapters are a bit different, such as Starters and Snacks, Boiled & Bubbling, Crisp & Tossed, Dumplings & Buns, Skewers & Grills, Hot Pots & Curries, Into the Wok, and Frozen & Fluffy, which is a lot more fun than standard cookbook chapters. However, the recipes are written in the traditional manner with ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions. The author has also added comments at the beginning of each recipe which are helpful.

The one drawback to this cookbook is that there isn’t a photograph of each recipe. The photographs that are included are professional and beautiful, but there aren’t enough. That isn’t a no-go to owing this cookbook, because there are great recipes and plenty of great ideas for cooking Asian at home.
