Love to bake? Looking for an awesome book with lots of scrumptious ideas? Butter, Flour, Sugar, Joy: Simple Sweet Desserts for Everyone (Easy and Delicious Baking Recipes, Simple Cookies, Cakes, Crumbles, and More!)is definitely the book you are looking for. Danielle Kartes is a recipe developer and food stylist, and, along with her photographer husband, has created a fabulous cookbook full of desserts that are irresistible.

The recipes are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions that make them easy to follow for both beginning and advanced bakers. Each recipe is prefaced by comments from the author that include vignettes, history, and/or helpful baking tips. The beginning chapter of the book also has helpful hints for bakers.

One of the best parts of this excellent cookbook is that almost every recipe includes a beautiful, professional photograph. This, of course, make it almost impossible to decide what to make next. The first recipe I made was for Nutella Banana Cake because I had some over-ripe bananas that needed to be used. The end result was moist and delicious, and it was devoured almost immediately. Other recipes in my “must make soon” queue include Walnut Frosties, Peanut Butter and Ganache Cookie Sandwiches, and French Apple Tart. The problem is that every time I peruse the cookbook, my queue gets longer.

All told, anyone who loves to make and bake mouthwatering desserts will want to pick up this excellent cookbook and it will be used often. Highly recommended.
