Lady Charlotte Always Gets Her Man is a cute cozy romantic mystery by award winning author, Violet Marsh. In this novel, Lady Charlotte, who has been brought up in elite society, learns that she will soon be betrothed to Viscount Hawley Talbot. Unfortunately, Charlotte and others suspect that Hawley murdered his two previous wives and she doesn’t want to be the third. Charlotte has known Hawley’s brother, Matthew, for years, and falls in love with him; he is a physician and not recognized in her social world. Charlotte isn’t afraid to break society’s rules, and works hard to prove Hawley has committed crimes as well as murder before her father insists she marry him. Matthew and some cousins help Charlotte with the case.

The storyline is cute; there are several characters that are interesting. Marsh does a good job of developing them so that readers can relate. Marsh has done her research as to the rules of society at the time and location that this historical novel takes place. It is charming, and if readers are lucky enough to listen to the audible version, they will be delighted by the narration since the narrator has a perfect English accent.

The novel is light, fun, and goes quickly to the dénouement. There are plenty of twists and turns, and Charlotte turns out to be one who isn’t afraid to break the strict rules of her societal world.
