Anyone who has trouble deciding what to cook for dinner should pick up a copy of Family Dinners: The Ultimate Cookbook, published by Cider Mill Press. This is a huge book and covers dishes from almost every part of the world. Included are traditional dishes as well as unusual dishes for those who want to try something new.
The recipes are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by step instructions that make it easy for both beginner and advanced cooks to understand. Most of the recipes are fairly easy and many have short lists of ingredients. Most of the recipes also call for standard ingredients available at most grocery stores; a few require online shopping or specialty grocery stores. The amount of recipes in this book is amazing, and there are beautiful, professional photographs of most of the recipes. There is something here for everyone, no matter how picky.
All told this is an excellent cookbook to add to a cookbook shelf. It has hundreds of recipes for dishes that most of us actually want to make and there are enough to give ideas for both children and adults. This is one that will be used often.
List of Kitchen Essentials and some cooking techniques, glossary of spices and other popular ingredients
This is one of those “go-to” cookbooks that readers will turn to because it has both traditional and unique recipes that are fairly easy to make and cover every ethnic flavoring on the planet.
