If you’re looking for a cookbook with healthy recipes gathered from around the world, you may want to pick up a copy of The Blue Kitchen: 100+ Recipes from the Happiest, Healthiest Corners of the World, by the editors of Cider Mill Press. The recipes are fairly appealing, and many are very unique and not anything most of us have heard of before. While there are a few recipes containing seafood, pork, and chicken, most of the recipes are vegetarian. They call for mostly Mediterranean ingredients.
Even though there are plenty of recipes that are presented in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions, many of the recipes are unique and unusual and there are no notes at the beginning of the recipes, so readers won’t know where the recipe came from, or how to serve it. It is essentially just a bunch of recipes that readers won’t know what to do with. The recipes, however, are easy enough for both beginning and advanced cooks. Some of the recipes call for special ingredients, but they are mostly available at larger grocery stores.
Most of the recipes are accompanied by beautiful, professional photographs, which will help cooks make the decision on which ones to make.
All told, this is a good cookbook for those already familiar with Mediterranean food, and also for vegetarians.
