Fans of the Ellie Matthews Novels series will definitely want to pick up the second installment in the series, An Eye for an Eye, by bestselling author, Caroline Fardig. In this excellent novel, Ellie is asked by her mentor, Sheriff Jane Walsh, to help solve the cases of missing women who have all been found dead; all of the missing are relatives of law enforcement professionals. Walsh’s niece is missing, and Ellie must investigate and find her friend’s niece before she is murdered as the previous disappearing girls.
Those who have read Fardig, know that she is an excellent storyteller because of her cozy series, Java Jive. But in this newer series, she includes a protagonist who is a criminalist and the novels are not cozies. Fardig does an excellent job of writing a suspenseful novel full of twists and turns and building suspense. She also does an excellent job of developing her characters. Elli is a serious character and her skills help find criminals, as well as keep readers on the edge.
All told, Fardig is an excellent author and this is a series to watch; most readers who read this novel will want to pick up the previous and subsequent novels.
