I cannot imagine not loving chocolate. Having traveled the world, I have sampled really good chocolate and am sometimes disappointed at the chocolate full of preservatives and additives sold in the US. I love baking with chocolate and love learning new ways to use it and the proper way to prepare it at home. For the Love of Chocolate: 80 At-Home Recipes from a Master Chocolatier's Imagination, by chocolatier, Phillip Ashley Rix, has been the answer to my quest for improving my chocolate skills.

This excellent cookbook includes information on the history of chocolate, as well as tempering, chocolate terminology, and tricks and hints for readers to gain the skills needed to make candy and baked goods that taste amazing. After the preliminaries, the remaining part of the book focuses on mouthwatering recipes. Rix truly has an imagination when it comes to developing recipes, and there are enough to keep everyone working with chocolate for weeks.
Each recipe is accompanied by comments from the author, as well as a list of ingredients and step-by-step instructions that are easy to understand and follow. Each recipe also includes beautiful, professional photographs that will inspire cooks everywhere to make something chocolate every day.

All told, anyone who wants to delve into the world of chocolate will want to pick up this excellent cookbook. Rix has outdone himself and this book belongs on every serious cook’s cookbook shelf.
