Most readers who pick up MAD Librarian: You Gotta Fight for Your Right to Library! are library lovers, and are enticed by a story where a librarian fights for funding in her small town library. This book is touted as being humorous, as well as a bit suspenseful. It almost asks the question, “How far would you go to save your library?”

Some readers may find that the book is fairly well-written, and the characters are well-developed. Others will think that the characters go too far and that makes the scenarios seem a bit unbelievable and the plot too far left. The first part of the book is engaging, but as the story goes on, many readers will want to put the book down and find something else to read. There is, however, some humor and enough of a storyline to keep some readers reading. Many readers will not enjoy the lack of moral values exhibited by the characters, and the length they will go, including abandoning a husband (Joe is one of the best characters).

All told, this is one that doesn’t deliver and will not be a favorite of anyone who enjoys good writing and a good down-to-earth story.
