Lisa Marie Jones has added a third installment to her Lilah Love series, Love Me Dead. As usual, FBI profiler, Lilah Love is investigating the deaths of several women. The killer has her in his/her sites, and seems to be playing games. Ex-boyfriend, Kane, who is a criminal, is following her actions with a goal to keep her safe, while investigating.
Most thriller aficionados read series with characters that they like and can relate to. This series is a bit different. While protagonist, Lilah Love, is attractive and grew up privileged and entitled, she has a filthy mouth and does not exhibit even a trace of class. Her favorite word is F**k, and it is used dozens of times whenever Lilah is mentioned. Lilah lacks decent morals and makes for an unlikeable character.
Most readers want to read a thriller with a good plot, building suspense, and unexpected scenarios; this series gives readers a large dose of smut, and a story dotted with filth. Assuming some readers like books that appeal to the LCD (lowest common denominator), this will be one those readers will want to pick up. It is amazing that anyone can actually get through this novel, let alone the subsequent books in the series.
