Who doesn’t like Pizza? While pizza apparently originated in Italy, it is served all over the world, and in the US, there are several cities that have their own style that they are famous for. While it’s easy to just call and order a pizza, some of us aren’t in the right part of the country to enjoy their favorites, and it’s necessary to make their pizzas at home. PizzaPedia: Favorite Recipes from Across America Pizza Cookbook with 100+ Recipes for Regional Pizza from Chicago, Detroit, Brooklyn, and More, is a fabulous cookbook that is filled with chapters on popular types of pizza everywhere, including places in the US that are delicious.
There are crust recipes – different for each type of pizza – including gluten free pizza in each chapter. They are all easy to make, and can be adapted to an automatic bread machine on the dough setting. The first chapters go over the basics and baking on the grill, in the oven, in an outdoor pizza oven, and almost anywhere someone would like to bake it. Then come the chapters with step-by-step instructions to make the various pizza styles and discusses toppings and ingredients for each. The photographs are excellent and will make any reader crave pizza for the next year. There are enough recipes to keep pizza bakers busy and great ideas for variations on sauces, crusts, and toppings.
All told, this is one of the best pizza cookbooks out there. It is also fun to sit back and read cover to cover. This book is highly recommended.
