Italian food never goes out of style. It’s popular in almost every household, and it seems that every family has their own recipes, many which have been ruined by well-meaning cooks who meant well but failed over the years and aren’t Italian at all. However, authentic Italian recipes are always welcome, and most of us want to eat something other than spaghetti and lasagna that are a far from true Italian. For those who want to expand their repertoire and include some real Italian American dishes, as well as real American Italian dishes. Parm to Table: Italian American and American Italian Recipes from Ponza to the Bronx , is an excellent cookbook that will change the way you look at Italian food.

Even though lasagna and spaghetti are included in this cookbook, most of the recipes are not the run-of-the-mill Italian dishes, and offer mouthwatering alternatives to the most well known Italian foods. The recipes are easy to follow and the cookbook includes beautiful, professional photographs of almost every dish.

All told, this is an absolutely “must have” cookbook to add to your cookbook shelf. The prose is fun to read and the author’s personality comes through. Highly recommended.
