Swifties everywhere will want to immediately pick up a new cookbook, Bake It Off: An Unofficial Taylor Swift–Inspired Cookbook for Every Era, from Breakfast to Midnights (Over 50 Inspired Recipes, Playlists, and Easter Eggs for the Ultimate Swiftie Experience), by author, literary agent, and bookstore owner, Lindsey Smith. This cookbook is not official, and no where does it say that it’s sanctioned by Taylor Swift. But, it seems to have her personality, and seems to be something that she would really like.

The recipes are fun, and will remind you of things Taylor Swift would love to prepare (if she had time, which is doubtful) in her own kitchen. The cookbook has recipes that are mostly sweet and mostly very appealing. There are basic recipes for all types of doughs like pie dough and choux dough, as well as basic frostings and glaze. Then on to the recipes, some of which have clever names (i.e., The Best Day(nish), and others that only Swifties will understand. The recipes are easy to follow and are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions. Most of the recipes include beautiful photographs.

There are other things that make this a fun book, like Swiftie playlists, vignettes, comments, and stuff apropos to those who love the popular star. All told this is a fun cookbook with recipes that are doable and yummy.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
