Almost everyone is trying to find ways to save time in the kitchen. Most of us don’t have more than about 30 minutes to spend on lunch or dinner, and want appealing recipes that are quick and easy to make and call for ingredients that we already have on our pantry shelves, in our refrigerators, or in our freezers. Maryna Verbyk recognized readers’ needs and has compiled a cookbook full of quick and easy ideas with emphasis on being healthy. 92 Quick & Healthy Recipes for Every Day: Simple Everyday Meals Ready in 35 Minutes or Less has dozens of fresh and health recipes that are quick to put together and taste good.
Each recipe is written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions. There is information at the beginning that lists the calories and information about the health aspects of the dish such as vegan, protein rich, high fiber, etc. The recipes are accompanied by nice, colorful photographs.
One problem with the book is that some of the recipes are duplicates. Another is that there are no page numbers and no index. There is a table of contents that lists each recipe, but doesn’t give a page number. The Kindle edition doesn’t even have links so readers can easily go to the recipe by clicking on the name; readers must go through the pages one-by-one until they come to the right recipe.
All told, this is a cookbook by an author who has good intentions, but needs an editor or publisher to add the missing important features.
