Fourth of July Recipes

Fourth of July Recipes
The Fourth of July is the perfect time to serve a low carb, healthy meal! You can grill fish, grill broccoli, toss a large salad and make plenty of sangria!

Meats
Grilling food is fresh, flavorful and healthy. I always recommend seafood of course, because of the healthy omega oils in them. If you're not a seafood fan, then grilled chicken is great as well. Steak is fine - but trim out the excess fat.

Veggies
Veggies are VERY important for proper health! Luckily, broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus are all really low carb and are really tasty when grilled. Just toss them first in oil, then grill them in one of those baskets that make sure they don't fall through into the hot area :)

Appetizers
Have I mentioned enough times how much I adore devilled eggs? They are delicious, easy, and eggs are full of nutrients. Also, always have out fresh veggies for chomping on. The more that you can get people to see veggies as a healthy normal part of life, the better!

Dessert
Home made ice cream is PERFECT for any summer picnic because you can make peoples' favorite flavors fresh - and you can make it with Splenda. Enjoy!

Low Carb Cocktail Recipes

If you're going to a party, be sure to bring along a plate of veggies. That way not only will you have plenty of snacks to eat yourself, but you'll help point out to other people that low carbing is all about healthy food - not about JUNK food :)
