Gospel in the Mix set for Washington DC
The Recording Academy, known internationally for the GRAMMY Awards, will be presenting a panel discussion on the process of recording a live gospel project on September Wednesday, 14, 2005 at XM Satellite Studios In Washington, D.C.
The event known as Gospel in the Mix will highlight the ongoing mainstream success of gospel music, and will include a discussion about the intricacies involved in recording a live gospel album and provide networking opportunities for those who have a particular interest in gospel music.
Special guests will include Dr. Bobby Jones from BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel and D.C. Chapter Trustee and gospel recording artist Richard Smallwood. Dr. Jones recently recorded a live album in Italy and Smallwood just recorded a live album in New York City. The discussion will be hosted by the Managing Director of The Artist Company International and live recording producer, Vernice Watson.
The discussion will be followed by a performance by the renowned Howard Gospel Choir and a networking reception.
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, from 7:30 - 10:00PM at XM Satellite Studios located at 1500 Eckington Place, NE, Washington, D.C. 20002. Recording Academy members can attend free. Costs for other music industry professionals is $25 each. Or join the Recording Academy and save the admission charge.
