Sugarland - Concert Review

Sugarland - Concert Review
What a wonderful night full of energy from Jennifer and Kristian of Sugarland! I attended another concert at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and it didn't disappoint!

Jennifer and Kristian hit the stage and started rocking the stadium as soon as all the rodeo events were over. Jennifer was wearing a cute little black top and black leggings. Kristian had on his trademark black hat, a black cowboy shirt and blue jeans. They started out with Settlin' and the crowd sang along and generally got ready for a great time from this duo.

My favorite thing about this concert is that Jenn let everyone know what the song was inspired by before they sang each one, it let the audience in on what they were thinking and in most instances it brought us back to those times in our lives when were in that position too. Jenn was all over the stage, interacting with Kristian and the entire band, it sure made it interesting because the stage rotates in a circle.

Mean Girls had Jenn bringing out her guitar, complete with skulls and cross bones on the strap which seemed appropriate for this song. They brought most of the band forward to sing Bruce Hornsbys song That's the Way It Is. It looks like the band and the duo have formed a bond and Jenn and Kristian don't want them to feel slighted or left out of the attention with all the upheaval that has happened since they hit it big. You can't play in Houston without playing the song Sugarland, it's right down the road. Something More is the song they closed the show with and it sure left you wanting more from these two. Don't get me wrong, there were other songs sung and played but these are the stand outs in my mind.

If you ever get the chance to visit Houston during the month of March, be sure to check out and see if the rodeo is in town and who is performing, it is a great bang for your buck. The rodeo is staffed mostly by volunteers and the money raised is used for scholarships for kids around the state to attend the college of their choice.
