On Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 11 am at Greater Emanuel Church, 19190 Schaefer Hwy. in Detroit, MI 482357 home going services for William "Bill" Moss Sr. will be held. I'm sure during the service that many memoriable comments will be spoken about him such as Bill Moss Sr. was the founder of Bill Moss and the Celestials. He gave the Clark Sisters a start and he was a wonderful musician and performer. What I think should never be forgotten is that he was an awesome father.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Moss Sr. personally, but I know he had to be a great father because as the old saying goes "the proof is in the pudding" or better yet you can tell if a person is a good parent by the lifestyle and actions of their children. Mr. Moss Sr. was the father of my dear friend J Moss. J Moss possesses all the qualities that any parent would want their child to have. During my friendship with J, I have found him to be loyal, compassionate, kind, funny, caring, warm and just (as my late grandmother would say...)"good peoples." Now J is by no means perfect. He would be the first to tell you that he has his issues, we all do, but the bottom line is he is good people. As a father I'm sure Bill Moss Sr. wanted his children to be good people. As a parent, I know in order for that to happen you have to train up your child in the way you would have them to go. Well from the looks of it Mr. William "Bill" Moss Sr. must have been a great trainer.

J and I caught up with each other the day before his father transitioned into heaven and we talked about his dad. My heart goes out to him now and I pray that he is somewhat comforted knowing that he made it home to be by his dad's side before he left this earth. I also hope that my friend and brother J finds peace in the fact that Bill Moss Sr. left so many wonderful accomplishments behind for us all to enjoy and the one that will impact us the most is the legacy and life of his family. Godspeed Mr. Moss Sr. and would you please save a space in heaven for the rest of us.
