2007 ACM Award Winners

2007 ACM Award Winners
With Reba hosting again, anything is possible. And she starts right off with the controversy that followed her from last year with a joke about not everything that happens in Las Vegas stays in Vegas because of some of the jokes she told last year about the Dixie Chicks.

Kenny Chesney, the two time reigning Entertainer of the Year, opened with “Another Beer in Mexico” in his trademark jeans, long sleeve shirt and black hat. Shania Twain came out to introduce Reba as the host of the show. The first award of the show was presented by Tracy Lawrence and Hannah Storm presenting Song of the Year to Give it Away by George Strait. It was nice to see Bill Anderson receive an award again.

The next performer was Miranda Lambert, who was introduced by Justin McBride, singing Famous in a Small Town. (I just don’t understand why the younger female artists need to wear such short dresses, especially when they are playing guitars that tend to pull the hems up.)

Martina McBride was the next up to sing performing “Anyway”. As Reba’s mama says “she can flat out sing”. Martina then gave the award for Album of the Year to Carrie Underwood for “Some hearts”. Josh turner performed his song “You Go With Me ”.

Gary Dourdan and The Wreckers presented the New male vocalist to Rodney Atkins. George Strait performed “Wrapped”.

Michelle Stafford and Brad Bates from Emerson Drive presented the award for Top New Duo/Vocal Group to Little Big Town. Carrie Underwood performed Wasted.

Emma Roberts came out to introduce Taylor Swift who performed Tim McGraw. (this was the first time they had been face to face and she went into the audience and introduced herself to him and he and Faith Hill both hugged her.)

Rascal Flatts came out to perform He Ain’t the Leaving Kind which they dedicated to the Virgina Tech victims. Carrie Underwood presented the award for Top New Female Vocalist to Miranda Lambert.

Brad Paisley performed ticks. Dr. Phil McGraw and his wife Robin introduced Toby Keith to sing High Maintenance Woman.

Last years Home Depot Humanitarian award winner Vince Gill came out and presented the award to Brooks & Dunn. Cowboy Troy and Gretchen Wilson came out to introduce Big & Rich performing with John Legend Lost in this Moment.

Little Big Town performed Gimme a Little More You. Rodney Atkins came out to perform These are My People.

Terri Clark & Darius Walker from Hootie & the blowfish came out to award Single
Record of the Year to Give it Away by George Strait. Jason Aldean came out and performed Johnny Cash.

Rascal Flatts came out to introduce Reba performing with Kelly Clarkson singing Because of You. Montogmery Gentry and Gabrielle Reese came out to award the Top Male Vocalist to Brad Paisley.

Brooks & Dunn came out and performed Hillbilly Deluxe. Blake Shelton and Joe Nichols came out to present the award for Top Vocal Group to Rascal Flatts.

Faith Hill performed Lost. Sugarland came out to perform Everyday America. Sara Evans and Eric Smanda came out to present the award for Top Vocal Duo to Brooks & Dunn, who won this award for the 14th time. Tim McGraw came out and sang I’m Already Home.
