Tracy Byrd - Greatest Hits

Tracy Byrd - Greatest Hits
With little fanfare Tracy Byrd released his greatest hits CD. Overshadowed in the early 90's by Garth Brooks and other male artists, Tracy has carved a niche for himself singing feel good, sometimes funny songs about men. Don't get me wrong, he can belt out a ballad with the best of them.

This native Texan who started out in Vidor with Mark Chestnut at a local club has had his share of ups and downs. He first signed with MCA Nashville in 1992 and had some top 10 success with his good time songs. He then moved to RCA in 1999 and seemed to disappear for a couple of years, but he made it back to the top in the later part of 2001 and it was good to see him back.

Tracy has pulled songs from most of his CD's to make up this package. While some fans might not believe that is a good idea, this listener likes having his hits all in one place. From Watermelon Crawl to The Truth About Men this is a feel good, have fun CD. There are a couple of new songs included Johnny Cash and Revenge of a Middle Aged Woman. Johnny Cash is a definate honky tonk crowd pleaser, it has a toe tapping beat and should get you out of your seat and wanting to dance. Revenge of a Middle Aged Woman is the tale of a woman upset with her cheating husband, it is another toe tapper that Tracy is known for recording.

If you are a fan of Tracy Byrd, then don't hesitate, get this CD for your collection. Even if you aren't sure who he is, you know some of his songs from the radio and I'm sure sung along with or laughed at the lyrics.
