This has turned out to be a week devoted to Apple. It’s appropriate for me, as I’m typing this on a white MacBook and checking my iPhone and iPad to make sure this newsletter looks good on mobile and other devices. I’ve been a Mac person ever since I learned to use a computer (not counting the time my family owned an Amiga), so I really enjoyed researching these latest articles.

The Mac’s older sister is an unsung herald of today’s computers, phones and tablets. Meet the Apple Lisa, introduced on January 19, 1983, and named after the daughter Steve Jobs once rejected.

1984 - The Apple Macintosh Ad

Apple’s original Macintosh debuted this week in 1984 – but let’s talk about its ad! Broadcast nationally on January 22, it became a legend in its own right, though not without controversy.
