Greetings and Salutations!
Wow, the beginning of this year has just flown by. I have been completely swamped in a number of critical projects like getting my 2013 taxes finally done!! I'm at last caught up on that. One step at a time. That's my mantra. Now to start organizing the 2014 receipts so I don't end up a year late again. That was just a nightmare for me. Lots of manual entering of stuff because the figures weren't online any more.
Now that we've been on this new server a few months and have settled in, I've removed all the "New Server" headers from the admin screens. The old servers are long-since turned off (or destroyed) so we don't have to worry about those any more.
That also means you're no longer seeing the last few subscriber emails from a successful newsletter run, which was an important part of our mail testing. This means if your newsletter jams you'll have to come to me directly to help you figure out which email address is causing the issue. As you might recall, one "side effect" of us upgrading to the latest server software was that it's far more picky about invalid email addresses. The old server would blithely try to email to lisa@@@bellaonline....com even though it was clearly a bad address. This new server chokes on those user typos. Which isn't really better, but at least we know there's a problem. The past few months allowed us to weed most of those out, and I think most of you now have a nice, clean newsletter list. If you do end up hitting a bad email for whatever reason, and get an error on sending your newsletter, let me know and I'll track it down manually.
I am still working on the newsletter scheduler. This new server is really cool and fast but also is different from the old one, so I'm still figuring out where everything is. It was a good and necessary change - and also a big learning curve :). We'll get there! For now please just keep on sending those newsletters manually until I figure this batch stuff all out.
I will send two more separate emails today, to keep the topics separated so you can easily reference them on their own.
I hope your new year is going well!
Sincerely,
Lisa Shea, owner
