Greetings and Salutations -
I'm about to begin the forum upgrade! If you're awake, please cross your fingers and toes for us! :)
In the meantime, here's something to give you a smile ...
The Amazon Kindle system has an interactive quality to it. Users can report typos to Amazon via their Kindle interface. Amazon then passes those comments along to the author, so the author can fix their book.
This works well in theory.
I just got this message from Amazon, about one of my books.

Hello,
We're writing to let you know that we've found a problem in your book:
Error Category: Typo
Context (i.e. the sentence in my book that has a problem): Imagine if you went to a well-respected website and found this sentence: LOLZ can u believe sum people thik hummbirds are from Florida?
Comments: "people thik hummbirds are from" should be "people thik hummingbirds are from"

So, let’s recap. A user was reading my book. When they saw the sentence I used as an example of what NOT to write:
LOLZ can u believe sum people thik hummbirds are from Florida?
They decided I’d made one typo in that sentence and that the typo was the word “hummbirds”.
Note that this “error” was in my book:
Writing and Designing a Successful Book: Tips for New and Experienced Authors to Create Best Sellers
Apparently I need to start that book with a new chapter, on how to spell “you” and “some” and “think” properly :).
Anyway, off to the forums!
