Happy New Year to all. May Great Spirit bless you with good health and many blessings this year.
Winter has been a bit odd here in Washoe County. We have had snow, ice, bitter cold, then bright warm sunny afternoons with clear skies. The squirrels and rabbits are out on my little mountain enjoying a beautiful afternoon.
I am going to be researching for new recipes I have never tried before. One of them will be Acorn Bread. If you have any recipes you would like to share with other readers, let me know. I can include in a newsletter your recipe, your name (first names only), and who the recipe came from (your grandmother, grandfather, auntie?), and the culture (Cherokee, Lakhota, Salish, etc.).

The American Indian is of the soil, whether it be the region of forests, plains, pueblos, or mesas. He fits into the landscape, for the hand that fashioned the continent also fashioned the man for his surroundings. He once grew as naturally as the wild sunflowers, he belongs just as the buffalo belonged. - Luther Standing Bear, Oglala Sioux, 1868 - 1937

Till next time, may you walk in peace and harmony.
