Attention Deficit Disorder

Here's the latest article from the Attention Deficit Disorder site at BellaOnline.com. It will come out early this Thursday.

Tai Chi Helps ADD
Capoeira is a fast-paced martial art, while Tai Chi is almost slow motion. What do they have in common? Both can help alleviate the symptoms of ADD.

A few weeks ago I wrote about Capoeira and how it can help alleviate some of the symptoms of ADD. Last weekend I went to see a Capoeira group's batizado at our local community college. If you've never seen a batizado, I urge you to go. Those capoeiristas were amazing. Our local contra mestre (master) brings in mestres from all over the world. These men and women do amazing acrobatic "tricks," split-second, timed kicks, take-downs, and perform compelling music. There are also the samba dancers. Then, local students "play" with the mestres. This is a final test to see if the student will advance to the next cord level. It was thrilling to see the improvements that the students have made since the last batizado. Two hours passed rather quickly.

Writing this week about Tai Chi made me long for the days when I took classes. This winter, I am going to be resolved to take at least one review class per month. The way that my body and mind feels after doing a long Tai Chi workout is something that I miss. No matter how hard I practice at home, there is nothing like having a great teacher push me to my limit.

Here's hoping you enjoy the article! Maybe you could join me on the forum, and let me know what you want to see in these articles.

May all of your days be blessed,
Connie
