Greetings, and welcome to the 2nd November 2007 Neuromuscular Diseases Newsletter
This free newsletter is put out weekly and provides a wealth of information for anybody living with or interested in Neuromuscular Diseases and the effect it has on people’s lives.

Coping with Rejection

I am sure all of us have experienced rejection at one time or another. Let us talk and share our experiences of being rejected for whatever reason.

It is difficult to think of how many times I had to deal with rejection. Being left out when other people think I will not be able to do something I am positive that it is within my abilities and not allowed to reach a specific goal. I wanted to become a Sunday School teacher but was rejected because the pastor and the elders of the church thought I will never be able to cope in a classroom because I am blind and, according to them, will not be able to do the work well enough. Not even the fact that I taught sighted children teaching them computer skills could persuade them to give me the opportunity to fulfil my dream.

Thoughts for the week:

"Men are born to succeed, not fail."
- Henry David Thoreau

"The growth & development of people is the highest calling of leadership."
- Harvey S. Fireston

“One must not lose desires. They are mighty stimulants to creativeness, to love, and to long life."
- Alexander A. Boomholtes
