If you're as fascinated by ancient Near East art as I am, you will enjoy reading my latest article, "The Guennol Lioness Statue Has Record Sale."
Coincidentally, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, has a special exhibit, "Art and Empire: Treasures from Assyria." These objects may not be as old as the lioness, but the stone carvings as wall reliefs are well executed.
The exhibit at the MFA runs from September 21, 2008 - January 4, 2009
Here's the latest article from the Art Appreciation site at BellaOnline.com.
