Greetings and Salutations -

I apologize for the site being up and down this afternoon. I was doing some testing on our secure server status and something went awry :). It took me a few hours to get it straightened out.

All sites are now wholly set up on the secure server, including all the site short URLs like:

https://sewing.bellaonline.com/
https://daughters.bellaonline.com/
https://orchids.bellaonline.com/

The tricky thing about the "lock symbol" in a browser is that in order for the lock to appear, ALL items on a given page have to be secure. That means that even one insecure image on a page causes the lock to fail. That failure results in lower google ranking and traffic.

I've done a lot of work to check our articles and featured images so if it begins to draw a http: image it changes it out to https:. That way you don't have to manually go back and change anything. Still, I probably didn't catch everything. If you find a page of yours that won't show a lock, let me know. I'll figure it out.

Now that we're on our new, faster server, our traffic continues to climb and strengthen. Hurrah!

Next up, I am going to work on getting all the recommended product area live. That way we're all set to recommend holiday present buying. This is a great way to make extra money, since those promotions are shown throughout the entire site. Now's the time to make sure you have your recommended products set up.

Be sure to use secure images for those with a https: and that they're the 400x400 square. If you have any trouble making a square image out of something, let me know. There's always a way to do it, as Instagram has shown us :). Just think in squares!
