The first days of winter saw the country covered in a blanket of snow but the ice has since thawed. The cut trees are being placed in the street one by one, still in their dressings of tinsel.

I spent my first Christmas here in France and experienced their Revellion, a feast shared between family on the night of the 24th..champagne, oysters, foie gras, and salmon, and that was only the first course!
