Views of Genoa

One of the stops on my recent trip to Italy included Genoa. My group had the pleasure of a private visit to the Palazzo Rosso. Among its many artworks is Caravaggio's Ecce Homo. In the classic Caravaggio style the light in the painting seems to emanate from the body of Jesus. You may see a photo of the painting and other views at my Webshots page.

St. Peter's Nativity Scene On View
I just missed the unveiling of the Nativity Scene in front of St. Peter's. I witnessed the workers diligently building the creche weeks before Christmas Eve. These almost life sized pieces have been used each year since 1842. You may view a photo of the manger here:
