12/30/1995-John Salvi III kills two and wounds five in shootings at two Massachusetts abortion clinics.
12/31/1984-"Subway vigilante" Bernard Goetz surrenders to police.
1/1/1973-Roseann Quinn is murdered in NYC. "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" is based on her murder.
1/2/1979-Sex Pistol Sid Vicious goes on trial for the murder of his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen.
1/3/1969-The John Lennon/Yoko Ono album "2 Virgins" is deemed pornographic in New Jersey. 30,000 copies are impounded by authorities.
1/4/1964-Mary Sullivan, the last victim of the Boston Strangler, is murdered.
1/5/1968-Dr. Benjamin Spock and four others are indicted on charges of conspiring to "draft dodge."
