The countdown continues as we head into the New Year, and it just may be the little resolutions that gain us the most momentum in 2009.

If you celebrate the New Year with resolutions, consider, if you haven't already, plotting out that garden or simply commit to trying just a window sill herb garden or one potted vegetable plant. You may be surprised at how well you do, it's a great way to reduce stress and it will taste great prompting you to take those first few steps even further with creative recipes!

Another resolution may be jump starting finances in 2009 with a "Money Jar" or other similar system that helps keep track of small amounts of money that assuredly will add up. Designate cookie jars, antique boxes, etc. for each category of savings you want to alleviate. One could be labeled, vacation, utilities, groceries, and so on.

We have one jar designated just for coupons and rebates. All the money we save goes into that jar to reinforce the time and effort it takes to clip those coupons and send in rebates with the actual money to show for it.
