Greetings and Salutations -

Between the flu and the blizzard I'm just catching up again with things :). Here's a few notes as I work my way through my email!

* Copyright Validator
Google changed their code so that our copyright validator only worked for ten URLs at a time. Apparently they don't like people to remotely get results from their site without seeing all their ads :). I recoded it to work with Bing and that seems to be working OK. Let me know if you have any questions about it. It's a good idea to do a run-through of your articles every few months and see who has copied them.

Keep in mind that this utility is only searching for the first sentence of your article. Someone could easily have cut and paste the "meat" of your article and left that intro paragraph off. This search therefore wouldn't find that theft. It's a good idea, for your more popular articles, to do a Google search on a random unique sentence from the middle of your article. That'll let you see if anybody has used a portion of what you wrote.

* Mused Voting
We're having fun voting on the beautiful photos, poems, and stories for the latest issue of Mused. If you'd like to join our Mused team, please let me know! It's great fun, we publish quarterly so it's not a large time investment, and we help artists around the world thrive and grow.

* Stress Relief
One of the college classes I'm taking right now is on stress relief. It has all sorts of great information on the biology and chemistry of how stress harms the body. It also has some cool insights into ways to release stress.

One technique is called "power posing". By putting your body into a certain pose for just 1-2 minutes you can boost your body's level of feel-good and confidence hormones. It's easy, free, and well worth a try!

If your browser wraps that onto two lines, make sure you connect it onto one line before you try to use the URL :).

* Open Sites
Five sites with healthy traffic and no editor are:
- quotations
- dogs
- Hispanic culture
- thyroid health
- baby names

If you know someone who would be a good fit for one of those sites, please let them know about the opportunity! We'd love to help those audiences find and enjoy fresh content.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Lisa Shea, owner
