Hi Work and Family members,
Well, my working vacation is over and I have returned home to the real world. It was good to be away, however short. I did get to the Renault Winery, but their souvenir cards have Egg Harbor, New Jersey, not Smithville as I had been told. The shops were closed because of bad weather and we ended up eating in a small non-descript place. I did meet some wonderful people and really enjoyed the wine education tour. The tour guide was impressed with me because of my apparent knowledge of wine making. I confessed that I had recently read The Merlot Murders by Ellen Crosby. Crosby calls her novel, “A Wine Country Mystery.” Everyone had a good laugh.
Here is this week’s article.

The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. —Erma Bombeck
