Greetings fellow crime buffs! Since this week was the 82nd anniversary of the Lindbergh kidnapping, this week's article focuses on that case. A second part covering the trial will follow. This was the original "Trial of the Century," long before OJ Simpson and 24-7 Court TV and Internet coverage. Even with only news and radio media, this case really captured the public's interest! Of course, it had all the "right" elements-dashing hero aviator, young child in danger, pregnant wife, mansion...the Lindberghs must have seemed larger than life, yet even they could fall prey to crime.
