This week, check out my article on the survival of a sitcom once the star exits the show. In light of the Two and a half Men difficulties, I have taken a look back at shows that continued to thrive even after a lead character exited.

News this week: Charlie Sheen has been on a media rampage.

The highlight of the week: Raising Hope and Martha Plimpton’s gossip face. The vasectomy was also very funny.

Seek this out: PBS just aired a two hour special on Britcoms. Entitled “Behind the Britcom from script to screen” If you love British sitcoms then you will love this special. It takes a look at the creators and writers behind some of your favorites. This special has interviews with the writers, directors, and cast.

Next week: Bubble season, that time of year when fans get to celebrate or say goodbye to their favorite programs. What programs will make the cut for next year, and what shows are on the bubble, or cancelled?
