ADD Can Persist Into Adulthood

Greetings from the Land of OZ!

Our poor Kansas robins are trying to find worms through a foot of snow! However, they are going about the quest with a zest for life! Are you ready for a change of seasons? Here in Kansas, we are getting ready for Spring Break; then, it is the sprint to the end of school! I featured last year's article on Simple Spring Break Tips for Kids with ADD on my homepage. It has a lot of useful information for making Spring Break a time of joy!


On a more serious note, in August of 2012, I featured a story about girls with ADD who have self-harming behaviors. In light of this new study from the Mayo Clinic and Boston Children's Hospital, I am including a related link to the August article at the bottom of this week's article. Why? The information about self-harming behaviors is chilling and relevant to anybody who cares for a girl with ADD. All over the world, children are diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, which affects about 7 percent of all children. Do children "grow out of it," or does ADD persist into adulthood?
