Greetings and Salutations -

Many editors are interested in YouTube, which is great! What I think I'll do is set up an area in our admin area for YouTube, just like we have one for Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and so on. That way everyone can easily see each other's links on a live basis. I will set that up in the next few days and let you know when it's ready. That way we can learn from each other's efforts and cheer each other on!

Remember, you don't have to be perfect. YouTube works best when it's "casual". People like that. They like the feeling that you're just a friend with a cellphone talking to them. It can be shaky and with mistakes. That makes it feel real.

Start with one tiny step. Just make the account. See how it works!


COMPLAINING CHALLENGE

Almost exactly five years ago to the day a bunch of editors launched on a "do not complain" challenge. The aim here is not to be a doormat :). The aim is, if you see an issue, to constructively address it instead of whining about it. For example, my washing machine has been broken for at least two years. I have tried complaining about that endlessly to Bob :). Clearly that hasn't worked. So finally today I sat down and mapped out steps to get it fixed. We will start tomorrow. So that will work! Constructive steps bring results.

I admit I did complain to him first this morning, before realizing that that was fruitless. So I have to start my timer from after I did that :).
