Greetings and Salutations -
A reminder that we have an editor chat tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24th at 9pm EST all about YouTube. This will be a great way to learn more about how to use YouTube for all your projects, both within BellaOnline and without. YouTube is an incredibly valuable resource, and it's well worth it to learn how it works.
The link to the chat room is on your admin page. We have made the chat room completely logon-free so you can type in any name you want and log in! It'll be "open" a half hour early (8:30pm EST) for those who want to come chit-chat for a bit before we officially start on the topic.
I've also set up the YouTube area in our Social Networking links. So on your main admin page click on Social Networking in the lower right. You can now add in YouTube links both for your BellaOnline YouTube feed as well as other projects you run. We'll help you publicize them all!
So for example Diane our Digital Art and Design editor has a YouTube area here -
http://www.youtube.com/user/dCipolloDesigns
Kim our Horses editor has one here -
http://www.youtube.com/kimwende
Tina our Living Simply editor has one here -
http://www.youtube.com/user/CyberScribe457
And I noted before that mine is here, where I'm loading all my juicing recipes I'm making this week during my juice cleanse -
http://www.youtube.com/user/lisashealowcarb
So look through those and then get ideas for doing your own! Be sure to poke all around our Social Networking admin area to follow your fellow editors in their Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, and now YouTube feeds. The more we support each other, the more we all thrive!
GREEN CHALLENGES
Our first two days of green challenges have gone swimmingly! You can see the promotions for both of them on our BellaOnline Facebook page -
https://www.facebook.com/pages/BellaOnline/323931250391
Be sure to let me know your idea for your site so I can add you into the queue. The challenge should be related to your site area - so for example today's Meditation challenge for the Meditation site involved meditating :). The aim is to drive people to your site to learn more about your topic.
The challenge should be super-easy, to lure people in. It should be able to be done that same day without lots of advanced planning. A five-minute meditation works - asking someone to plan a weekend-long green retreat probably wouldn't have worked as well :).
If you'd like help brainstorming, let me know and I'm happy to help!
It's a fun creative thinking process. So for example our editor BB runs our Body Care site. How can Body Care be green? Well, BB wrote an article on herbal cures for body issues! Perfecto! You can read it here -
http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art180202.asp
So tomorrow we'll do a body care challenge. Several of BB's suggestions involve herbal teas. So we can ask people to drink a herbal tea and chime in when they've done it. For most people this will be "easy". Some might not have any herbal tea in the house - maybe this will be a reminder to go get some! And it'll intrigue them to learn more about how herbal teas can help with health - and indeed how all sorts of natural ingredients can help with health.
The key is to hook them with something easy. Something on topic. Something to draw them into your site to then learn more.
Let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or comments!
