Greetings and Salutations -

Stage Two of our move is now going live! The forums have been fully moved onto the new server. Network Solutions has been told to point the world at this new location.

Now it takes about 24 hours for the entire world to catch up. Some people will see the new forums immediately, while others will take a little while.

You'll know that you're on the new forums when they are active. The old forums are "shut down" so that people can't post there any more.

The new forums also say, at the top, "THIS IS THE NEW SERVER - WE ARE STILL TWEAKING IT." I have that note there in case something is still in need of tweaking there :). I haven't gone into all the INI files yet and customized their memory settings and such to run just right.

Also, there is a new version of our forum software out there and I'd like to update us. But I want to make sure the basics are set first.

The mail system is NOT MOVED yet, so that is still on the old server.

Please hold off on any newsletters or announcements for now. I want to wait until we get the mail moved before we do any newsletter mailings. That way we manage all the mail and subscribes and such on the new server.

So, again, at this point the main website, the admin interface, and all article content are moved. Also, the forums are moved. That leaves the mail to be moved Monday evening, when things are quiet again. I try to do this kind of work during US-night-hours when we have the lowest traffic.
