The Inspirational Dancer Heather Mills

There is a point in time when we all need a little inspiration. As dancers, as women, and most important, as human beings, a little spark from somewhere inpires us to be more, to do more. It can be something we see on the news, an individual who goes above and beyond.

On a personal note, I recall this amazing young woman that performed with her drill team (this was in high school) in front of hundreds of people. I was sitting in the audience. It was stadium seating, so I was way above floor level.

As I was watching this particular team, I saw that they wore a costume that covered their entire body, like a unitard so to speak. This young woman that caught everyone's attention was kind of overweight. What happened next was amazing and unforgettable.

She danced with her group, while her costume started ripping at the crotch. The material slowly ripped while she danced and her panties and her flesh were exposed. Not once did she stop. She knew that her costume was coming apart in front of hundreds of people. Everyone saw. She didn't care. She kept on dancing. When the music stopped, she exited gracefully with the rest of the girls.

I will never forget that moment. How she handled herself, inspired me. No matter how tough things can get, don't stop. Keep going.
