Greetings and Salutations -
Just a quick note that I'm running a live seminar tonight in Millbury MA on getting published and writing. I know a number of you live nearby and had expressed interest in attending my next one. It's at the Millbury Public Library.
For those who aren't close, I'm posting my notes here -

Let me know if you have questions on something and I'm happy to expand and clarify.
Getting published is a great way to earn "effortless" income over the long term, either for yourself or a cause you believe in. Yes, it takes short-term effort to write that book. But once it's done, the book sits there earning you money for an eternity after that. A check appears for you "by magic" each month without any real work by you. Then you write a second book and now two checks show up each month. It snowballs.
So, in comparison, if you are paid for one-off jobs by someone, that work is "lost" once it's done. You have to go work again to get another check. With books, when you self-publish, you build yourself a steady stream of free money. That's why I advocate it so heavily. It helps buffer you against future illness or downturns. That stream you've set up will keep chugging along for you even if you become bedridden. You just want to make sure you get your ebooks into all the major systems - Kindle, Nook, Apple, SmashWords, etc. - to get the most benefit from your effort.
Let me know if you have questions! I'm busy getting everything ready - the talk starts in four hours :).
Sincerely,
Lisa Shea, owner
