Greetings and Salutations -
You guys might remember that last November a number of us tackled the project of National Novel Writing Month. This project involves starting on November 1st, writing every day, and finishing up the first draft of a novel on November 30th. It's a way to provide focused effort, with support and encouragement, to getting that first draft done.
I'm thrilled to announce that my NaNoWriMo project of Aspen Allegations: A Sutton Mass. Mystery has just been awarded the GOLD AWARD for best Regional E-Book East of the Mississippi! That's a *huge* category; I didn't dream I'd be able to earn a medal in that large field, never mind the gold award!
This link isn't public yet but I'll let you sneak-peak at it :)

It's category E9, near the end of the listing.
Thank you so much to everyone who cheerleaded, provided support, did readings, gave feedback, and attended my launch party for this book. Your good wishes were invaluable in helping me to dedicate time and energy to this project. It goes to show that, if you have friends cheering you on, you can achieve just about anything you put your mind to. And that's what we're all about here!
I'll definitely be doing NaNoWriMo this coming November, and would love to help out anyone else who will be taking that on. It's a lot of fun, and a great way to jump-start that project that's been lingering.
Also, Aspen Allegations was set (probably makes sense) in November. I wrote the story day by day based on actual November weather and events. So rather than write all the sequels also in November, which would only show one facet of Sutton, I'll be writing the sequel (Birch B-somethings :) ) in August. That way readers get to see what Sutton is like in the summer. Again I'll be doing a month-long project so I have a set start and end date. That works best for me and my brain :). So if anybody would like to do a writing project with me in August, I'm all for it! I'll do it in the Fiction Writing forum again and would love company there. So something else to keep in mind.
Whatever your writing projects are, chime in in the forums, and we'll help you out! We've got all sorts of readers, editors, graphic designers, and all around fun people in our community, and together we can help each other achieve anything :)
