Greetings and Salutations!

Several editors have told me they've been approached by Down Jones to be listed in a press database. It's certainly great to be listed in as many news databases as possible! You never know which one will get you a great contact. Be cautious about what email address you use, though. Never use your actual BellaOnline one, because many of these databases get spammed very frequently.

Instead, set up a Gmail account (or some other free account) that you can use. That way if the spam starts up you can just shut down that account and move over to another one. You'll find you have to do this every once in a while, and it's a good technique to use with all your web efforts!

Only use your actual permanent email address when you are talking to a specific individual you trust. That keeps your email safe!


MUSED

A reminder that the deadline for the upcoming Summer Solstice issue of our Mused Literary Magazine is this coming Sunday, May 8th! This is a great way to get wide recognition for your poems, short stories, true-life stories, photos, and drawings. We publish plays too!

FILE BACK-UPS

Every week an editor or two writes in with a sad story of a computer that crashed or died, causing them to lose data. I know it's easy to forget, but make a note to back up your key files tonight! It is quick and easy, and it can save you weeks of heartache. If you've never done a file backup, now is the time to start!
